If not, how can I buy memory ? I must buy it in Poland ![]()
P.S. Sorry, my English is horrible but i'm learning ![]()

Hi:
Your English is great and 100% better than my Polish!
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03163704.pdf
Please see Chapter 1, page 2 for the memory upgrade info.
How much memory depends on what operating system you have installed. It says if you have windows 7 starter installed you can only have 1 GB.
I do think that the service manual is wrong where is says you can install 1024 MB x 2.
There is only one memory slot that I know of.

According to the manual if you have windows 7 starter it will only be able to use 1 GB.
So, you can buy a 2 GB memory chip, but it may only be the same as having a 1 GB chip with windows 7 starter.
Memory is cheap nowadays, you may just want to get a 2 Gb chip, and take your chances.
You can always upgrade to windows 7 home premium some day.
I still don't understand how the operating system will limit the memory to only 1 GB, but perhaps it can.
For example, if you have windows 7 home premium it will only see up to 16 GB of memory. You need to have windows 7 professional for it to be able to see more than 16 GB of memory.
Maybe microsoft has limited windows 7 starter the same way--only 1 GB.

Okey, understand
but netbooks is a low-end hardware and this is my question.
Windows 7 HP is heavier (i guess
) than Starter.
It will work Win7 HP or Ultimate on this hardware ?

Hi:
A 2GB memory chip won't hurt the machine. It will work but Windows 7 Starter may only see 1 GB instead of 2 GB.
If you install windows 7 home premium, professional or ultimate, then you have no problem--2 GB will be seen by any of those operating systems.
I would just buy the 2 Gb chip and try it in windows 7 starter. If it sees 2 Gb in windows 7 starter, then you don't have to upgrade the operating system.
If it only sees 1 GB, then you know what you have to do.
The notebook will work one way or the other.
In other words, installing a 2 GB memory chip in the notebook with windows 7 starter installed, will not damage the notebook or cause windows 7 not to work.

Installing memory of any brand by yourself, does not void the warranty, unless you physically damage something during the process.
...and you have to be pretty clumsy to do that. ![]()

OKey,
thank you very much ![]()
I'll try to install 2GB memory on this HP
What do you think about this memory:
SO-DIMM 2GB DDR3 PC-8500 (1066MHZ)
He costs only 24 PLN (less 10$)
This is using memory with 24 months warranty
http://allegro.pl/okazja-so-dimm-ddr3-2gb-hynix-24
Is it better buy a new Goodram or a Kingston memory ?

Hi:
I think that memory will work fine.
I usually use Kingston or Crucial memory myself, but I think I have taken HP factory memory out of HP notebooks that had Hynix chips.
Most memory in the USA comes with a lifetime warranty. I would not be happy about only a 24 month warranty.
