HP Pavilion DV7-6C95DX Touchpad Not Working

It worked for a few days and then stopped.  The fn + spacebar trick doesn't work, it just pages down.  The orange light doesn't come on either if the touchpad is off.  I don't know if this happen on it's own or after I updated the system with updates or going to Win7 Prof...

Hi,

The first thing I'd suggest is to download and install the latest Synaptics driver on the following link.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55107.exe

After the installation has completed, restart the notebook and see if this has helped the issue.

The driver I had was already newer, but I installed this one instead.  No change...

I didn't notice it at first, but this post is in regards to the light surrounding the touchpad, not the touchpad itself...
