I currently own two of this model laptop, a DV9930US and a DV9933US, the only difference in the two is that the 33 has a BLU-RAY player.
My question is currently I am running 4GB of DDR2-667 (stock) and was wondering what the maximum ram would be that this model will support?
Can/will the bios support 8GB DDR2-800 or even DDR3?
Is there a website where I can get the specs on the motherboard that is installed in this model?
Thank you,
KC

Your best bet for memory specs is crucial.com. I know you cannot use DDR3 and you cannot use DDR2-800. If you are used to the way things work with enthusiast desktops get ready for a very closed environment with laptops. Mfrs can't afford to have people messing with them so they lock them down. Crucial says the max is 4 gigs. They do not take the manufacturer at face value, they actually test the units so if they could sell you 4 gig sticks they would say so. On a laptop, the computer is the motherboard...it is all part and parcel of the unit. The unit is designed from the ground up and built to HP specs by a factory in the Far East. HP does not reveal highly detailed technical specs for competitive purposes I believe.
