Re: HP Pavilion dv2419us Notebook PC. motherboard failure

Check the Website to see if you have one of the lappys with issues, check the symptoms and see if you are suffering from the samething, if so... then you are going to have the hardest time getting it repaired. You have a mother board that is faulty if you are having the same issues and HP will charge you to replace your mother board but don't do it. I called two times and everytime the agent gave me a different price, one for $279 + shp and what not and the second time it was $389 so I am not sure what's doing on in HP, I have read some blogs with people paying up to $400 so I am not sure what's going on, but dont pay them a dime. Check the website and see if your lappy is one the list if it is then start writting emails to a case manager and tech support, WRITE an EMAIL so you have a trail of information don't do it on the phone so you know that the story is jumping because that's what happened to me. It's known by HP that there is a faulty mother board floating out there in numerous amounts of laptops and they are trying to get out of fixing it for free because this would be finanically destructive for them to do, if you have a HP laptop with the symptoms that are under the list even if it's not on the list then you might have a faulty mother board. Get a case manager! Keep your heads UP!

Re: HP Pavilion dv2419us Notebook PC. motherboard failure

Ahhh so the devil does bare a name after all... so this 447805-001 is the board that is causing the issues! How could I check to see if I have the board, do I remove the RAM door? I have seen that mother board number flying around but I wasn't sure how certain that is.. but thanks for the verification.

Re: HP Pavilion dv2419us Notebook PC. motherboard failure

Well it seems that mother board is for a certain pavilion but mines is not that series, there is a wide spread of models that have this crazy deviled filled mother board. Yup I would have to open my laptop to find the part number it's different for everyone but the symptoms and the issues are the same for sure.

Bad motherboard symptoms are random but can seem the same when the problems are presented.

I bought it in March of 07' then the motherboard burned out in August of 07', then it was working fine. I started having problems with the wireless not staying on or even being recongnized by the device manager, soon after that my USB ports went out and in Feburary of 2009 my laptop burned out again and I took it to best buy for repairs, but not knowing that HP had a enhancement on my warranty I sent it to best buy because HP didn't notify me by email, phone or US postal about this issue. I then got my laptop back from best buy after repairs and it worked fine up until June of 09' it burned out again and when I spoke to HP they had the information with the first repair but they said that best buy should have sent the laptop in for repairs and they didn't because there was no record, now I have a case manager and I have to fax her the proof service from best buy so I can have my laptop fixed for the 3rd time, there is no reason anyone should have to fix a laptop that is barely only 2 years old to get the motherboard repaired 3 times.

I agree, there is no reason but it does happen. I work for Best Buy and I see if from every manufacture every day...
