HP Pavilion dv6-1200. USB 'Recognition Problems'

Hello,

Not sure if anyone has had similar or same 'problems'?

 

With the Laptop directly in front and booted up, when I plug in devices in either USB sockets on the RH Side I have no problems with recognition at first attempt of attaching a device via its USB plug/cable.

 

When however plugging in to the USB sockets on the LH Side it is a completely different matter, and nine times out of ten, the device is NOT recognised!

When I subsequently remove the USB plug and re-insert it 'Bingo' the device on the end of the plug/cable sometimes gets recognised.

 

While I am not sure if the 'problem' is Hardware or Software related I would be grateful if anyone has had this problem and identified a solution which they are willing to share please?

 

The 'problem' has been on/in this machine since purchasing it new from the online HP Store.
