HP Pavilion dv6 notebook pc cuts off when picked up

I recently bought a refurbished HP pavilion dv6 notebook and from the third week of owning it started to cut off when I picked it up not all the time but on occasion. Then shortly after when I go to turn it on it doesn't do anything. The lights on the keyboard come on you can hear the hard drive spinning but nothings shows on the screen its just a black screen. This is a problem that comes and goes as well. I'll turn it off start it back up and it'll come on no problems. I have a warranty from the store on it but really can't afford to drop it off for that long seeing as I need my laptop for school. Being as I am a first year computer sciences major I took it to school and we looked at it but the best we could come up with is ESD so I sprayed my carpet in the house with a fabric softener solution hoping that would take care of the problem but no change. The computer doesn't report any problems all the hardware is working correctly according to the systems check in BIOS. There are no error messages. I've even updated the BIOS and drivers.  I don't know what else to do any suggestions?

If the laptop shuts off when picked up it is usually a problem with the motherboard. One of the chips is delaminating and any twist on the board causes it to lose 100% contact, which causes the laptop to shut off.

The motherboard cannot be fixed (probably) but it can be replaced. It is not cheap. The board will be $100-150 and the labor about the same to have a shop do it and it is not a good first laptop project if you have not done it before.

There are some shops on ebay that will try to fix the board: if they can find out exactly which chip is causing the problem, it can be reattached. Let me know if interested and I will try to help you find one. The cost would be about $100 or so.
