HP Pavilion dv6000 failures and repairs

[ Edited ]
Is anyone else having issues with HP and repairing their faulty product, I am stuck in the middle with a Case Manager and being left out in the cold with a $1500 mistake! I bought my laptop in March of 2007 and about 3 or 4 months after the purchase my laptop mother board burned out, I then sent it to be repaired and it was repaired. Then I was having wireless issues just like HP claimed on the series and Model I have, it's a know problem and so HP "Enhanced" the warranty for another year, making it repairable for free until May of 2009 but because I was not made aware of the Enhancement I had to pay out of pocket to have the mother board replaced at Best Buy ( which by the way won't repair it again because of the fault in the mother board) in Feburary of 2009 so then the laptop ran fine for about a month and the wireless went down again and I didn't have the money to fix it because I knew my warranty was over...but HP had an Enhancement which almost everyone that I have seen knew nothing about. In June of 2009, just about the same amount of time (3 or 4 months after 2nd repair)  after I repaired the laptop it burned out again, now I know there is a 3 strike rule but HP is trying to run from this major epidemic with this faulty series, this would make it the third time I need to have my laptop fixed, I am waiting for a call from the Case Manager but it seems to be another game that HP will play so they don't have to pay. I have proof that I paid for the second repair out of pocket during the "Enhancement" period and HP should at least honor the fact that I tried to do the right thing by repairing my HP product but I have a feeling that since it's out of warranty they have washed their hands in my blood. I am not here to slam HP I just want my laptop fixed, not replaced and I am not asking for a better laptop or anything just repaired is all... Do the right thing HP.

Re: HP Pavilion dv6000 failures and repairs

I opened up a case and I sent the reply with my contact information, so now the last email said I should expect a call from a Case Manager but I don't know how certain that is because there is people stuck in the phone tag game with HP case managers so I still have hope in HP to do the right thing. I am just upset that the agents treat me like I don't know what I am talking about, it's a simple thing! Repair it, it's something that is openly known as a faulty product.

Re: HP Pavilion dv6000 failures and repairs

I have been in phone tag heck with them for over three weeks just trying to get mine looked at. It got hot burned my leg and they claim this 0 tolerance get to you tomorrow, they are only available 8:30 am - 4:30 pm CST and on top of that if you call on your lunch they are gonr to and you have to talk only to your manager. I have been trying to get in contact with harry jeffery for over 2 weeks now. He actualy call me at 6:30 am just so he could say he called to his boss i am sure. The first email I get from him looks like internal communications as it started off with I called the customer and sent him this email. Then below was the email that he was writing to me. They are very bad support wise and they underestimated the amount of heat newer chipsets produce. The pot metal instead of heat sink was a bad bad bad idea. GOOD LUCK

Re: HP Pavilion dv6000 failures and repairs

If you have a case number and your set for a conclusion that the case manager agreed to and they are playing phone games with you then you file a claim with the Better Business Bureau to have them look at your fired proned product, you were burned and they think its a joke. I would keep calling and keep on them, it's probably them playing games, I am waiting to have my laptop picked up too because best buy fixed my laptop during this enhanced period and I havce to fax my case manager my proof and she will send the box to pick it up but I dont know if its a game that I will have to play just like you.

Re: HP Pavilion dv6000 failures and repairs

I'm having a problem with them. I sent it back due to their known motherboard issues and was just told buy the case manager that I have to pay for it because the webcam connector is cracked. After having to pay for a hard drive on a 1 1/2 month old Pavilion Elite desktop, I'll NEVER buy from HP again.

What was wrong with the hard drive that you had to pay for it?

Re: HP Pavilion dv6000 failures and repairs

You and thousands of other customers are being treated the same way, it's a trap! buy HP and cut your life span by 25 years by having to deal with the PC issues and Customer Service from hedes, it's ok to have issues with merchandise but it's how a company deals with issues that causes for true colors to shine. HP is hoping that we as customers dissapear with this motherboard issue that is causing major drama in allot of customers lives, from the USA, UK, JAPAN, INDIA, AUSTRALIA etc, etc, etc... Re: HP Pavilion dv6000 failures and repairs

what a surprise hp has a recall and has attempted to weasel out with the walmart line that contains the same issues as the hp sold counterparts yet another dv6000 with a failed nvidia chipset and fried wireless adapter

its funny that hp cant discriminate against certain users
