I have a HP Pavillion dv6299ea. I have an issue... the fan is very noisy and my technician said that the heatsink is damaged...
he recommended me to do nothing becouse changing that part is very expansive and the pc must be send to the hp support to be repaired...
What can I do? I have other alternatives, don't I? I can change the heatsing alone if somebody said to me where i can buy that part
P.S. The warranty is expired
***I'm sorry for my bad english...(I'm italian)
thanks!

I think your technician is hiding the fact that he has no idea how to work on a laptop. It is true that the dv6000 series is not easy to fix but it is well within the ability of a decent laptop technician to replace the heatsink and fan. And after the warranty is up, the last thing you want to do is send it to HP....very expensive. The part is available on U.S. ebay for $12 US. I have bought many items from this seller; they are excellent and they will ship to Italy:
The Service Manual is here and shows step by step how to do the replacement:

Thanks Huffer I think so about my technician... Yesterday I found the guide and I disassembled the pc but when I arrived at the page 167, I don't be able to Remove the top cover because it was stuck by something but I don't know what!!...
So... I will buy the part that I need and later I will see how to remove the rest!!...
Thank you so much!!
