Hi,
I have a dv5 notebook (dv5-1138nr) that was purchased shortly before Christmas. The computer is running Vista 64-bit.
About half of the time you plug anything into an external USB port, the computer simply locks up. Everything is frozen. The only way to fix this is to reboot the computer. This has happened with several memory sticks as well as a USB external mouse.
Any ideas on what might be causing this or how to fix it?
Thanks,
Mark

I'm having the same problem with my dv6-1259dx notebook. Hoped that Win 7 would help but did not. There is no bios updates but reinstalled it anyway with no results. This is a common problem on many different computer but I have never found a resolution.
