My HP 6500 laptop (Windows Vista) will not type two of the same letter like WW or AA or backspace without waiting for 1 second. I checked the typematice and repeat setting and they are ok. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this issue?

Uninstall the PS2 keyboard in Device Manager and reboot. See if that fixes it.

Hi,
From windows Control Panel, open the Ease of Access Centre and click on the link 'Make the keyboard Easier to Use'. If there is a tick in the box next to 'Turn on Sticky Keys' or 'Turn on Filter Keys', remove these and then click Apply to make the change to see if this resolves the issue.
Regards,

Many thanks, this did the job and saved me a lot of frustration. you can imagine what it was like trying to type just using words with out double letters....etc. Thanks again. Chris. Could not find the Kudos section. All the best. Thanks again.
