Yes most of the time it all works out. I have personally sent more than one laptop to them and had the laptop come back in 3-7 days fixed. I also once sent a netbook in that they could not fix and had to send me a replacement after about two weeks. You pays your money and you takes your chances. Try escalating the matter and see if they will not charge your credit card, send you a hard drive and let you just return the old one for credit. I know they do that if you ask nicely and persistently. We can then help you with installing the drive and getting software on it. If that is going to be beyond your comfort zone, then send in the laptop and they will do it.
