I have an HP Pavillion DV6626us Entertainment Notebook with Windows Vista Home Premium (32- bit Operating System) and I wanted to know 2 things:
1. Can I remove my Recovery Drive and replace it with another Hard drive for storage?
2. Can I use a Western Digital 1TB (I listen to alot of music) Hard Drive in the Recovery Hard Drive's place?
3. If I can not use this hard drive for my laptop, then which one should I use (preferably 500GB - 1TB)?
Here's a link to the exact one I'd like to buy & use.
Also, I'd like to upgrade my memory for my laptop to 2GB.
Will a Kingston 2048MB PC4200 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 Memory (2 x 1024MB) fit my laptop ?
Again, the link to the one I want to buy is here:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTool
Well it looks like I needed to know more than two things. ![]()
All help and suggestions are greately appreciated !
Thank You!

1.Yes, but if You have warranty on it You will lose it. So if You want do anything in this situation do it only by service.
2.Yes.
3. Capicity is not problem it's Your choice what You will install. This what counts is measurements. This Hdd which You want to buy is Box Size:
( Length: 11, Width: 8, Depth: 2 ) so check it with your current HDD will it fit to your laptop.
Here is document with guide how to remove disk (page 51).
4.Memory:
Here are all informations about memories to your model.
a) "Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-6400,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot."
So this memories which You wrote aren't good for this model.
Memories from Kingston only this models.
b) You have got dual channel, so:
"To benefit from the performance advantages offered by dual-channel systems, you should install memory in identical pairs. Installing a kitted pair is the best way to ensure that your modules are identical, right down to the chip count."
Mached pairs will give the best performances.

Ok,
So I checked the page on how to install it, and I scrolled down a bit (to page 98) where I found the dimensions of my HDD.
I didn't know if those were the specs of the disk itself or if it was the size of the whole unit.
If it is the whole size of the unit, then the WD 1TB HDD would be too big I think ?
But shouldn't all HDDs be universal, or like one size fits all or something ?
I'm still not sure and I'd rather not spend 100 big ones and have it not fit.
Height = 9.5 mm
Width = 70 mm
(This is for the HDD that I have now in my laptop)
*HP doesn't specify whether or not these are the specs for the disk or the whole unit, which is confusing.
The WD 1TB HDD specs are
Width = 4 in.
Depth = 5.8 in.
Height = 1 in.
but again I think these are the specs for the full unit.
And so the memory is all squared away right?
I just need to buy a 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 PC2-5300 Kingston Kits, right ?
Thanks again in advance for all help , suggestions & tips !

I finally found out that I kept looking at the 3.5" form size of the HDDs (desktops).
I really needed the 2.5" size (wow).
Thanks again, Daniel. You were a huge help !
