Hinge connecting keyboard/base to screen

Recently, I have experienced a problem with the left hinge connecting the base/keyboard to the screen on my Pavilion dm4 laptop. The left hinge is still connected to the base of the computer, but the hinge is broken off from the screen. I am wondering what any possible support options are? I tried looking through support guides on the HP website, but I did not find anything useful.

I have included a link to an imgur album with pictures of the situation (http://imgur.com/a/LWtiA).

Re: Hinge connecting keyboard/base to screen

Hello! I am currently in a similar situation and am wondering how your situation turned resolved. This is clearly a product default (my computer is not even 7 months old) and I am determined to get this fixed.

Re: Hinge connecting keyboard/base to screen

I have this same problem!   What was the outcome for you?  I need help!  Every time I close my computer I feel like the left hinge is one step closer to breaking.  Will HP cover this since it's a manufacturing problem?

Re: Hinge connecting keyboard/base to screen

Hinges on ebay:

Service manual:

The screen will need to be removed and the hinges replaced. They bolt to the chassis of the laptop and also inside the screen assembly.

Re: Hinge connecting keyboard/base to screen

I ended up sending my computer into HP for repair. Literally on the last day of warranty.

Re: Hinge connecting keyboard/base to screen

I have the same issue.  SInce I bought the computer, I will ocasionally get pixels and lines moving on the screen.  I thought it was a driver issue since it would resolve every time i rebooted.  I noticed the other day that the hinge cover on the left is loose.  If I reattach it (clicks on) it will pop off when I open and close the screen.  This is an issue from the factory.
