How many HDDs can a dv6-4023TX have?

I'm thinking of installing an SSD as the main drive in the new dv6-4023TX I have just bought.

The User Manual talks of the "Primary hard drive" as if there can be a secondary?

I took the back cover off but couldn't see if there was space for a second drive.  I didn't want to remove the HDD that was visible for fear of upsetting it.   :smileysad:

Because SSDs are rather expensive I will only be able to afford a small one, 60Gb?  So I want to install the current drive as the main data disc and use the SSD purely as a system disc.

This will mean transfering the second partition (where the backup OS, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit lives) to the second disc.  I don't have a Windows installation DVD.

How will this impact reloading Windows from the backup disc (should I ever have to)?

Re: How many HDDs can a dv6-4023TX have?

The dv6 uses one hard drive, while the dv7 has 2. I would not get an ssd any smaller than 128 gigs, it is just not enough space to work with.

Re: How many HDDs can a dv6-4023TX have?

Thanks for a very quick response.

Since the dv6 will only allow ONE HDD my hope to use an SSD is moot.

120Gb SSD would be too small for my requirements of total storage and any bigger an SSD would cost ttttoooooo much. :smileysad:

Thanks again for your quick response
