How to identify the laptop keyboard you need:
A. To Verify the part number, the additional numbers, you can find them on the back of your old keyboard.
B. If your IBM Thinkpad R40 Keyboard uses screws to install it then verify the screw pattern with our enlarged photo of the part.
C. Each keyboard includes the cable which connects it to the motherboard as they are part of the keyboard.
D. If you can not sure which keyboard is correct for your laptop, then contact us.
