I cannot access the dvd/cd it appears to be dead.

I have been unable to use the DVD/CD drive for a few weeks and would like to know how to fix it.

Hi,

 

Click the Start Menu, open windows Control Panel open Device Manager and open up DVD/CD-ROM Drives.  If the drive is listed here, right click on it and select select Properties - is there any error showing in the Device status box?  If there is, post back with details.
