Hi everyone,
I have my laptop(hp dv6 6150eb) for a year now and i'm having the feeling he gets hot at some moments. He doesn't shut down because of the heat and I don't have any other problems because of this but I'm afraid it wil shorten it's lifespan. I'd like to hear some opinions cause i'm getting a bit worried ![]()
here are some screenshots i took.
while idle:
a few firefox screens, java based game, skype,... opened:
after shutting down battlefield bad company 2 after 10 minutes of gameplay:
(i don't play heavy games too often)
Hope i get some response to this, thanks ![]()

That is hot, but not quite extreme. Under 80 is preferred, anything over 90 is worrisome and over 100 is pure trouble. I would get a laptop cooler. Also after a year it is perhaps time to open it up and clean it out inside and install new thermal compound. Does it seem to be hotter recently?

Since I got him he has been hot compared to other laptops but I've heard the dv6 is known for that. No sudden changes in the temperature, probably hotter since the beginning.
Do I lose my warranty if I open it up myself or could I just bring it to a hp store and get it cleaned there?

Hi,
Do not open this notebook because you will void warranty. Clean the vents of your notebook using compressed air.
