Keyboard Letters

The white letters are coming off my keyboard.  How can I fix it?

Re: Keyboard Letters

I'm having the same trouble with my dv7 laptop. But I have been in contact with HP for prior problems with this computer and they refuse to take care of the problems although the unit is still under warranty. Forget about the AG office; they seem to have everyone in their back-pocket. The only way to show this company you mean business, is not to do business with them anymore.

Re: Keyboard Letters

I bought my HP PAVILION DV6-6145DX in November 2011.  I sent it back to HP in January of 2012, and need to send it back again.

I am sending back my HP PAVILION DV6-6145DX for the second time due to the white letters coming off of my keyboard.

It is the same letters as last time:  "A, S, D, E, R & T."

I am very discouraged.  This has never happened on any of the other keyboards that I have worked on over the years.

I sure hope that the second time sending it back will be the charm.

Good Luck with yours!

Re: Keyboard Letters

The white letters on my dv7-6c67nr keyboard started disappearing within the first 2 weeks of owning my computer. I've had it for 3 months now and 7 letters have completerly rubbed off (W,E,R,T,A,S,D), and 5 letters are beginning to rub off (I,G,H,N & M). Obviously based on other people's comments about having the same problem, it sounds to me as though it should be on a recall.

if HP can't resolve the problem, then they could have at least suggested buying a keyboard protector cover. Maybe that would have avoided the problem?  But now I need a new keyboard, and sounds like HP is not cooperative.  This is very bad news for HP laptop owners!

Re: Keyboard Letters Disappearing

The same as the other replies - my lettering is disappearing with only months of use.  Of all the products I have used in my 25+ years of personal computers - this is the first time this has happened.  No doubt that the products are at fault.

Wish HP would honor their products while under warranty - MANUFACTURING FAILTURE .

They will replace the keyboard for a fee and about 2 weeks without your computer - who has that kind of time any more.

So you can order the keyboard replacement from HP or other sights and install yourself - pretty easy to do!
