Keyboard not working G60-637CL Notebook

Hello,

I'm trying to repair this laptop from a client of mine. I've tried uninstalling the keyboard and after a restart it reinstalls the keyboard as "Standard PS/2 Keboard." It works but it is requiring a restart, after which the keyboard doesn't work again. I have tried everything including getting all the Windows updates and downloading the latest driver from the HP web site. Nothing is fixing it. Please help!

Maybe the keyboard is bad and needs replaced.

But it works to type in the Windows password at login. I think this is an HP driver issue.

RESOLVED: I tested with a USB Ubuntu boot and it still didn't work. So, I opened up the front cover and removed the keyboard and then reattached the keyboard, making sure that the electronic connector was inserted snuggly. Now it worked!
