Its almost the 3rd month of 2009. 

Still waiting for a 6cell battery.

Still waiting for the VGA cable.

These are the things that make a machine much more usable.   zzz Planning on buying a Acer mini..  HP?

1. VGA cable estimated availability date March 4th 2009
2. 6cell battery estimated availability date March 18th, 2009

Is anyone aware of a compatable external battery that would plug into the power port on the Mini? I have one from APC for my DV9758, but they dont make one for the Mini. The 6 cell battery would have to be swapped out while an external one would be base power for the comp until it depletes, then the internal one takes over without interupting ones work.

I am from Singapore and I bought my HP Mini 1000 in Dec. I am still trying to buy the 3 accessories for the notebook

1) dvd555s 8X External Multiformat DVD Writer drive

2) 6-cell battery - FZ332AA (S129 incl GST)

3) VGA cable - FY828AA (S$39 incl GST)

I called the HP buy direct @ 1 800 278 0182 and was told that they do not carry the accessories. I was direct to 2 reseller (Mobility@HP and T8 Systems). Mobility@HP don't sell accessories. T8 Systems was trying to sell me the accessories at amount double the prices I saw online. They quoted the cable at SGD80.

I think HP customer service is terrible. They are not making any effort to make it easy for us to get the items we needed.

I'm looking for a security cable for my Mini. In the manual, the little hole in the right rear of my Mini is marked as the 'security cable connector' (item 5 on page 15).

Oddly enough, it's not a Kensington lock connector - it's only about half the size, and a tunnel rather than one hole (like the kind you thread a wrist strap through on an MP3 player or camera). First I figured they'd probably pulled another trick similar to the VGA cable and introduced their own type of cable lock (after all, why let customers use the universal equipement they already own when you can sell them more HP stuff?!). But when I couldn't find a security cable with the HP accessories, I asked HP and they seemed to think a Kensington lock would fit -- and actually became quite rude when I insisted that wasn't going to work.

So, does anyone know what kind of cable lock will fit the security cable connector on the Mini?

I too am having a problem finding a computer lock for the Mini... the hole is not made for any general security locks.  I really don't want to have to do a screw in/glue on lock, but nothing seems to fit.  The Kensington locks do not fit.  Any suggestions?  HP people - are you coming out with locks for the Mini?
