Re: MY DV9000 IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO ME AGAIN HP!

Nice to hear from you Mr. Pitstop! And to Mr. “Mumbogog” I know it’s a user forum but I promised the good people at HP that they had not only lost a customer of many years but I would let people know of their “Quality of service and care and their willingness to release machines, costly machines with a known limited life span and cooling problems” You would think they would have learned by watching the American car industry, that has for years now tried to regain the trust and a loyal customer base.  HP has now done the same thing to so many of us that now own these 700 to 1000 dollar fancy looking bricks.

Mr. Pitstop I do have some questions as since my first post my sons DV series laptop HP has also given up the ghost… My local computer geek guy tells me these things are just badly made that I should salvage and parts I can and use them as shower tile or cutting boards… BUT it sounds like you have addressed some of the cooling issues associated with these machines that may give my son and daughter a year or so of life at a reasonable cost, my main question is would you recommend the complete mother board replacements or your “reflowing” ? Is the replacement mother board of a better quality than the ones originally provided by hp and does that service included the upgrades to the cooling issue as described in your listings on E bay and demos on U tube?

As to the comments of “MasterUMC” the prices I have seen being charged by Mr. Pitstop are reasonable compared to those “discounted rates” offered to us from HP that also offers a limited warranty, and if he’s not flooded with work by every unlucky soul that owns one of these machines his turnaround time seems better too.

I would also like to thank all of you for your participation, as any of you that have had these problems finding and getting information can be frustrating and time consuming….

Hello.

I am the owner of The Pc Pitstop in Avon NY.

I strive for 100% customer feedback no matter on eBay or from our website when ordering the repairs.

I would love to answer your questions or concerns about my service.

We do things quite differently from other companies who offer this repair, 90% I can share with you, so ask away.

I am not on these boards to promote my service in any way, shape or form, simply posted due to the fact that "masterUMC" has some doubts about the service our company offers.

Howdy there Avon, MasterUMC sounds like he/she knows what they are talking about but gives opinion only and no links to anything he brags about, or offers no alternative for a repair facility so he has no credibility here.

People don't want to spend 200~400 dollars for a motherboard replacement that will fail like the original, they just want to get a few more years out of their original investment without reinvesting so much, its a matter of economics, not how expensive your equipment is, I am confident you use what works, which keeps your prices affordable to most. Anyone knows if you do business on eBay like your company does, negative feedback is a business killer, and you would not be there very long if you did not do an excellent job.

Keep up the good work you and your company does to repair these laptops, evidently HP cannot do it properly. Without small companies like yours, laptops would wind up in the landfill. I will continue to recommend your company to other members here on the HP forums and other forums I frequent.

Best Regards

Mumbodog

Mombo I've been paid as an expert in the industry for my depositions for several laptop manufacturer class action lawsuits. Yes, I do know what I'm talking about.

Pcpitstop, you do have a right to make a living and I respect that. So I'll just drop this.

Cheryl, you're a great asset to these message boards. Keep up the good work. Mombo too..

Paid expert, that explains a lot.

Instead of slamming someone trying to help others, why don't you help out here?

We could use the expert help.

No offense intended.

Re: MY DV9000 IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO ME AGAIN HP!

Mumbo, I've helped several thousands of people by way of  support depositions for the plantiffs (YOU the customer) in class action lawsuits.

Providing legal explanations for these manufacturer defects takes MONTHS of research and development to produce a vaiable cause for the source of the problem and the correct solution.

Anyone can come out and balme everything on Nvidia, heck, people do it everyday on various message boards.

ATI has had very similar failures with various laptop models / manufacturers as well. This stuff has been going on for years.

Also, just because the ultimate "apparent" solution is to blast the Nvidia chip with heat and that seems to generate positive results don't mean anything. THERE has to be research into why it happened and finding a solution to the problem AFTER the correct repair has been implemented.

When I see that actually take place, I'll let you know.

The only people helped in CALs  are the lawyers and paid experts, the end consumer is rarely compensated in full, give us a break, thats the problem with "experts", they think they are the only ones that know anything.

No one is blaming Nvidia here, you on the other hand started the negativity towards PC Pitstop, unjustifiably so I might add.

We are really off topic here and helping no one in this forum. I think this discussion should be ended here.

Regards,

Mombodog, non "expert", only a person that donates expertise and time for no gain of my own.
