I have a Compaq Presario P906US laptop with only 128 MB of RAM. I would like to give this laptop a little more life by adding memory. Can I add memory by adding to or replacing the current memory? Will additional memory boost my performance? What are my options? Thanks.

There are two sockets. One contains the original 256 MB module. Must I put a matching 256 MB module in the other or can I add a 512 MB one? Or can I remove the 256 MB original and replace it with either a 512 or 1024?

HI,
Each slot accepts up to 512 MB. So you can do what you want, for the moment or you do not exceed this limit
