Model Number confusion

Hi, I ordered a HP Pavillion dv6700t notebook PC with a model number of KL090AV, and that is what it says on the outside tag.

However when I start it up the BIOS says is a dv6700 not dv6700t and the model number is GP238AV.

I have tried finding the difference between the two models but to no avail. Is there any difference between the two models that would merit returning it?

Re: Model Number confusion

Quite frankly, if I order something and shell out $$ or Euros (in my case) it, what I receive had better be what I ordered. Check the specs on your order if you have a copy. If you are certain that the wrong model was devlivered then contact customer support and explain to them that they sent you the wrong product.

Re: Model Number confusion

The difference is due to the fact this is a customized computer.  dv6700 is the family.  The t at the end merely tells you that the computer has an Intel processor in it.

There is no difference in the PN - the machine is customized (CTO) to order, so everything you ordered is there.  The CTO units all have multiple PNs, the correct one to use is the one printed on the white tag on the bottom of the notebook.

Re: Model Number confusion
