My Clock periodically looses several hours.

I have a new HP e905Z system.  Perhaps once a week or so I see that my clock has lost a 3 or 4 hours (the minutes and date stay correct).   I can reset it and things are fine until the next time.  I have no idea what to look for to correct this problem.

Re: My Clock periodically looses several hours.

Hi there,

the usual cause for a clock losing could be a semi faulty CMOS battery which just can't keep up when in sleep mode (or something along those lines). The date may stay the same but if you were to not touch the unit for a few days you could lose days. I suggest doing the following troubleshooting steps.

Re: My Clock periodically looses several hours.

Thank you...  As a new user of this HP system I was not aware that I needed to check the time zone setting.  It was set for the wrong time zone.  Again, thanks...  Paul
