I have a G700 notebook. When i am using it, it works fine for at least an hour. After a period of time the screen will randomly go blank but the LED's stay on. After five seconds of this it goes of completely. I have tried everything i know of to fix it. I explained this to HP and they said - In reviewing your email, it is apparent that the problem is related to the hardware functionality of the PC/unit. They would not tell any solutions as my computer is out of warranty.
Can anbody help me to fix this?
Many thanks,
JW7733 (Jed)

hibernation is not a big deal. If I were you I would turn it off from control panel under power options.
Good luck.

Hibernation sleep is when everything in memory is written to a disk file and then the laptop will completely shut off (maximum power savings). When you reboot you will see a message "resuming windows" and the boot up is faster than a normal cold boot up.
Normal sleep will power down certain components (some energy savings) but hitting a key or mouse mouse will wake your laptop. A laptop can be setup to first go into sleep and then later wake up and go into hibernate sleep.
If you are going to use hibernation sleep, then be sure that your bios and video card driver are at the latest levels.
