My 1394 port doesn't work. I have a yellow exclamation mark in the Device manager (OHIC Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller). I tried to update and uninstall the driver but was unsuccessful.
I'm running Win XP.
I can't find any driver on the HP site or on the WEB for this hardware.
Anyone has a clue? Thanks in advance !

As Cheryl has pointed out, we'd need to know the model.
However, since XP SP1, it natively supports IEEE 1394 (no additional drivers are needed other than the original chipset).. so the yellow ! or ? is referring to a specific Code error number.
Post back with that Code number, and we'll be able to further help you.

The "OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 host controller" error is usually due to BIOS incompatibilty with XP.Most solve it by downgrading to lower BIOS version.
However if you have the newer Broadcom 4322AGN 802.11a/b/g/draft-n WiFi Adapter which requires Bios F.2 to support it,downgrading your BIOS would result in your laptop failing to boot with the wireless card installed.

An irritating "Catch 22".
You'll know you have the wrong BIOS because the system will boot.. then go to a black screen stating "this system cannot boot with the wireless adapter installed".

Pavilion DV9625ca.
If this is any help, the error I have is : "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
If I downgrade my Firmware and it doesn't boot because of the Wifi, if I remove the Wifi card, will it boot again and then I will be able to flash it back to the orriginal firware?
Thanks everyone!

Yes,you can remove the card and reflash.I was afraid you might freak if it happened and I had not mentioned the possibility.A recent poster had that happen and on my next check of his post he he had left screaming in anguish about returning the laptop to store..didn't wait for a solution or come back, afaik.
Get BIOS F.27:
