Notebook will not boot

I have a G62-227CL notebook. Yesterday morning, it worked fine. Then I put it into Sleep mode and unplugged it. A few hours later, I plugged it back in and tried to turn it on--to no effect. No lights, no activity of any kind.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Could this be a battery problem, or is the computer just dead?

Thanks!

Re: Notebook will not boot

MIchael0315,

I am not an authority of that unit, so I had to look it up. zfrom what I interpret, prolonged battery drain forced the G62 into hibernation mode. "Resolving a low battery level when the computer cannot exit Hibernation

When the computer lacks sufficient power to exit Hibernation, follow these steps:

1.Insert a charged battery or plug the computer into external power.

2.Exit Hibernation by pressing the power button".

From User manual pg56-57:http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02102005.pdf

In the Service Manual see pgs 11, #4. What is the status of that light?

Worse case situation, remove battery, Pg 41

BTW> see pg101 and use DVD+R to make the Recovery DVD set.
