Re: Number of ram slots on hp folio 13t-1000

Hi,

Well, it's a 13.3" (or normally called 13") laptop. Most laptops including 17" machines have TWO slots of RAM.

Regards.

Hi,
The HP Folio has only one memory slot that can hold a maximum of 8 gigs. It is important to note that this memory slot is not accessible by normal means.

EDIT: although the maximum amount of memory is 8 gigs, the Folio can currently only be configured with 4.

When you buy the HP Folio it's only configurable for 4gb, but you can subsequently upgrade it to 8gb yourself - which I just did.  Of course, kiss your warranty good bye.

Hey,
Can you please specifiy more? Because the datasheets say up to 4GB..
What model do you have (incl. series/man. month) and what DIMM you used? Are there two slots?

Thanks!

Re: Number of ram slots on hp folio 13t-1000

I have the 13t-1000 which has the i5-2467M cpu.

Despite what HP says, Intel says the cpu can support 8GBs, http://ark.intel.com/products/56858/Intel-Core-i5-2467M-Processor-(3M-Cache-1_60-GHz).  Of course it was a risk, but with memory being so cheap I upgraded and it worked.

There's only one slot, and it uses a sodimm.  I got this one, GeIL 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10660) Laptop Memory Model GS38GB1333C9SC, which at the time was cheaper than what's listed, but any of these should work:

Had I found someone else that had upgraded I would of went with the CORSAIR Vengeance; it might of bumped up my WEI score.

Re: Number of ram slots on hp folio 13t-1000

Cheers!

I'm not going to do any upgrades any time soon, I value my warranty too much :smileyhappy:

But I'm positive I will in the future, so thanks a lot!

that crossed my mind too, but i'm confident that it'll outlast its standard warranty.

Re: Number of ram slots on hp folio 13t-1000

yea. although HP has a manual for it; search the support site. read up on ZIF if you don't know what it is. I yanked on one of the ZIF connectors by mistake, luckily I didn't damage it.
