Hi everyone …..
My laptop is Pavilion dv2750ee; I have had it for over a year now. I also have two external Western Digital HDD the big one uses electricity and the small one runs by the USB port alone. The laptop used to read them fine, but now every time I connect the small HDD it does one of three things:
1- It doesn't recognize that anything is connected.
2- It gives me a message that some device is connect but it can't be recognized.
3- It runs it correctly for 3 to 4 minutes then it stops the HDD and a small clicking sound will come from the HDD when that happens, then it does the same it did before ether no-1 or no-2.
So, I tried my friend's small HDD and the same happened in fact I tried seven small HDDs and the same with them all even though they all work fine with other computers including my small HDD, but not on my laptop.
Please help me what can I do to make my small HDD or any HDD that only runs by USB work on my laptop. I forgot to tell you everything else that I connect by the USB is working fine (the big HDD, mouse and Flash memory).
