I tried what you said but I couldn't find "Webcam device" even when I searched it. I did look under "system and maintenance" since I couldn't find just system if that makes a difference. And I just want to be sure, does "HP Mediasmart Webcam" count as driver software for my webcam.

Sorry. I should have stated Control Panel --> Device Manager --System. That is where you will see a list of all the devices that make up your laptop.

 

The driver and software package is located is located here.
