Pavilion dv6-6C10US- keeping it plugged in

I guess it's the age old question- do I keep my notebook plugged in all the time. I have been doing so since I bought it (about 2 weeks ago), but I am not sure that this is the best thing. Also, I read "keep your charger/adapter plugged in to a UPS." What does this mean?

Re: Pavilion dv6-6C10US- keeping it plugged in

Hi,

If you use it as a desktop replacement and it sits at a desk, It is a good idea to remove the battery and use the power adapter. If you use it as a mobile device then it is not wise to leave it plugged in all of the time. It uses a Lithium ion battery and does need a complete charge /discharge cycle once in a while.

Keeping the power adapter plugged into a UPS isn't really necessary unless you live somewhere that has wildly fluctuating household power. That would not be a common situation for most people.
