Pavilion dv6700 Notebook | USB in Sleep mode

I'd like my USB port(s) to remain powered when the lid to my notebook is shut -- i.e. charge my iPod while the notebook is asleep.  Does anyone know of a registry key to tweak?  A program to run?  A driver to install?  If you've been able to successfully do this I'd appreciate any pointers.
