Pavillion tx2000: Black screen, 2 blinking lights all others on, fan running, no boot

Same problem, has HP been responding to any one at all? This is not a disposable item for most of us..

Apparently I have the same story as everyone else here.  I typed in "black screen" and viola!  I found *exactly* the same problem I am having everybody else is having too.  I think my laptop is just about two years in use *exactly*.  This is when I noticed the display driver stopping working and then recovering.  I assumed it was due to the computer getting extremely hot.  So, I put a fan next to it and switched from Media Play to a more stable player.  I was watching Netflix without the fan on the computer when the screen went black.  Everything worked except the display.  Turning off the computer and letting it cool down helped.  It would reboot back and everything would be fine until it got hot again and it the screen would go black.  Considering this a fatal error and that there might be nothing to do about it, I bought another HP Pavilion computer as a back up just in case my current computer would continue to have the same problem   It still is!  From what I can read on this here the nvidia chipset/graphics is defective, overheats, and ruins the motherboard.  Help!  My computer still works if you let it cool down, but eventually I expect it to stop working entirely.  What can I do to stop the problem from progressing?  Yes, I have already bought another HP computer in anticipation of this ones failure, but I see no reason why my current laptop should be junked after scarcely two years!!  This is insane!  Can I do anything about this computer going totally south before it finally does?

OMG!  i have been a walking advertisement and billboard supporting HP up to today May 7, 2012!  with several children and working for myself (so my computer is my life line) i have purchased 8 computers and 4 printers in the last 5 years but it ends today.  this computer had problems a year after i purchased it and has gone downhill since.  i sent it back to hp twice to fix this very problem and now that it is out of warranty i am just out of luck.  hp very coldly told me that i should buy a new hp--HAHAHA not on your life.  i am a single mom and this unprofessional company took my money and trust and spit on it all.  i opened my computer today and those same sick problems: black screen, lights flashing, fan runs but NO BOOT!  i am in so much deep trouble right now with no computer and no money to buy that new computer i was harshly told to buy---hey hp after 8 computers and printers you may want to consider how many of us---former loyal hp customers---can affect your company.  we may not be able to really do much but like every big movement--it starts with a small movement.  i'll tell everyone i know not to buy hp, and they will tell everyone they know not to buy hp and so on and so on and so on.  if you had only looked at this problem and not ignored it just think how many more loyal buyers you would  not have lost.  watch out if you fix this --it will only be temporary---so back it all up and start saving!!!   thanks for nothing hp.

Just registerd to this forum. Today the same happened to my 2 - 3 year old HP pavillion TX 2000. Only get black screen and blinking blue lights

I had the same problem.  I have done the instructions (unplug, discard battery, hold power 30 sec, put battery and reboot), but it failed at the first time

I HAVE TRIED A SECOND TIME THE SAME THING, AND AFTER THESE OPERATIONS, BEFORE PUTTING THE POWER ON, I OPENED THE HARDDRIVE PANNEL AND PULLED OUT THE MAINBOARD BATTERY OUT FOR ALMOST 15 SECONDS BEFORE PUTTING IT BACK IN ITS PLACE and powered on.  AND VOILÀ, IT WORKS

I hope it will work with other people having the same problem.

I'M BACK 1 DAY LATER AND MY HP TX2-1027CA CRASHED AGAIN...  AND ALL THE STEPS WRITTEN IN POST 35 BY MYSELF DIDN'T WORKED AT ALL THIS TIME.

BACK TWO DAYS LATER... POSTS 35 AND 36

AFTER READING A LOT OF THINGS, AND AS I KNOW THIS IS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION AND I HAD NOTHING TO LOOSE, I DECIDED TO TRY THE "BAKING MOTHERBOARD" METHOD (380 °F IN OVEN FOR 10 MINUTES WITHOUT ANY STICKERS AND PLASTIC ON IT,  AS SEEN ON YOUTUBE) AND IT WORKED... IT'S NOT A JOKE

FOR HOW MUCH TIME, I DON'T KNOW, BUT IT PERMITS ME TO UNINSTALL SOME PROGRAMS, AND MAKE A FINAL BACKUP OF MY DATA.

TX2-1027CA TOUCHSMART, AMD CHIPSET, ATI GRAPHICS.

Same problem here.... black screen and blinking light above scroll key and beside cap key. I was soooooooo ticked, I turned it off and on about 100 times. How surprised I was when it finally came on. I have no wireless or sound and am using the ethernet but, I plan to nurse it and I will NOT turn it off, sleep, hibernate etc.I have a cooling rack under it on high. [Legal Discussion Removed]

I know this is rather old now, but I was wondering if anyone ever figured out the problem or is HP ever offered up a solution? I have this exact problem and due to not reasonable support I threw the laptop under the bed and forgot about it...Now, I'm prepping to move and uncovered the laptop and decided to once again try to figure out what is up. There is stuff on that thing that if possible I would like to recover.

Anyone...?
