Please remove bios whitelist

I am very upset I bought a wireless card an HP one that I spent alot of money on and I cannot use it due to bios white list that is low down its your wireless card you got my money for the laptop and the wireless card and I cannot use ether one. I host a forum and am a member of many and I will post to ban all HP/Compaq products I know it will not affect you much but I don't care this is wrong

! even if my posts stop one person from buying your product I will be happy I will never buy anything HP/Compaq as long as I live today I am going to buy a new laptop and I assure you it will not be one of yours

                                                                                     Very upset former customer

How would you like....

How would you like to go and buy a brand new car only to find you could only go to one gas station to fill up? no matter how busy or what the price well that is what HP is doing with their BIOS whitelist if you need to replace a small piece of hard ware? you cannot just go get what you want you have to call them to get a part they have not black listed so insted of just going to the local computer store you have to go through their customer disservice if you are in business like me this is unacceptable I need my computer working now not next week its not that the wireless cards wont work or anything they just want you to buy from them only and what even worse I did buy one of theirs to replace a non working one and it will not work think about that before you buy another HP product!

Re: How would you like....

[ Edited ]

I had the same problem a while back with an older notebook.

I hacked the PCI DeviceID, VendorID, etc.. into the BIOS image, and reflashed the BIOS with a neutral flashing utility.

(Be careful, you may brick your notebook, I had to de/resolder the bios chip the first time)

Google for it.. there are plenty of solutions for it out there.. This forum isn't the best place to find intelligent help.

Re: How would you like....

It's a very sad situation for many customers. I just know I will never buy a HP/Compaq again, too loud, battery and charger broke after 1 year and 2 months for me, the whitelist is ULTRA annoying. It only looks good.

The model is 6730s Intel version with T4200 Dual-core CPU and ATi graphics.

I could even go with the noise and high temperature, even the charger/battery issues, but the whitelist...............

I bought an Atheros card from Japan that I couldn't use without flashing the BIOS. If you do decide to not get rid of the whitelist, at least, FOR GOD SAKE, explain why it's necessary???

I'm sure it's just about money, as always. Well, you lose on me in the future. I will rather buy Končar **bleep** from Croatia.
