Good morning!
First let me mention that I live in Brazil do not speak English, so the text was translated by Google
Translator, so it may contain some spelling errors.
I'm having the following problem:
I have an equipment Compaq Presario CQ60-419WM imported from the United States, equipped with a Sempron SI-42.
I was trying to do a processor upgrade to a Turion X2 RM-70, but despite having the same as compatible in the service manual of CQ60, the machine did not work. Turion and other models tested unsuccessfully, but with the Sempron works normally.
I went several times to contact HP's support of Brazil, but they always tell me they have no information about my device, for not being manufactured here.
I wonder if it really is possible to upgrade this machine? If you would like to receive detailed procedures.
Grateful
Andre Guerin
HP customer in Brazil

Your BIOS software was not updated. You need to update your BIOS softwar to the latest version before you change out the processor because the outdated software was not designed to work with a new processor. Replace the Sempron and update BIOS to the latest version for your computer then you can exchang the processor for the new one.
