Hy,
I bought myself, 2 and a half years back, the Presario CQ61-313US laptop.
And I'm really statisfied with it, but recently I'm in need of a better CPU. I've started to do some 3D modeling with 3D Studio Max 2012, and some rendering processes are taking to long to finish - even for some simple things.
This are the results of CPUz scan:
And I would like to ask you people, is it possible to upgrade my CPU ??? and if it is, which one would be the best option right now ?
Right now, I'm not in the position to buy myself a new laptop, but I would like to consider this option of upgrading the CPU as the closest one that I get right now. So, if you have any suggestions I would be really greatfull.
Thanks in advance.
Regards, JAsko

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01868653.pdf
Supported processors can be found in chapter 1, on page 1-1.
Looking at chapter 3, there are no motherboards for the different classes of processors, nor are there different heatsink/fan combos.
On the driver download page, I see no requirement to update the BIOS to accomodate any of the supported processors listed in the manual.
So, it seems to me that you can install any of the supported processors without any barriers.
Paul
