Problem on first use - elitebook 8560p

Hi,

I just bought a new PC, an elitebook 8560p (without windows : it's a FreeDOS). After a few weeks waiting, I finally received it and I wanted to try it immediately. Unfortunately, since the first boot, the computer boots and asks me to choose a country and keyboard layout, but, just after, it shows an error message :
"Unable to switch off A20 address line.

Size clamped down [...]

Public domain ATAPI CD-Rom Driver v0.2.10 ALPHA

Failure! no IDE/ATAPI Drivers found!

[...]

Error setting soft hotkey mode

[...]

Can't open CD driver FDCD0001
       SHSUCDX can't install."

Followed by a prompt : "C:\>".

Can I fix this or should I return it to the HP tech support ? If I can fix this, can someone give the steps ?

Don't you plan to put Windows or Linux on it anyway? I think the error just means that DOS is not going to be able to access the CD/DVD drive and the rest of DOS works. Have you tried entering some commands at the C:\> prompt to see what happens?

The only command I had tried was "DIR" (It worked). Anyway, The solution for the error message I saw is to set the drive type to IDE in the BIOS options.

But, as you said, the problem was solved when I installed another OS.

    I brought new laptop -G6-2313AX with DOS os. Actually I am facing same issue which u r faced

previously( ie,Public domain ATAPI CD-Rom Driver v0.2.10 ALPHA failure). let me know how u installed

new os in your machine. if you help me its really helpfull for me.
