Problem with built in SD/MMC card reader 6910p Vista X64

I put in a perfectly healthy SD card and retrieve information and once removed it won't work again until I format it. Sometimes it says it can't format the card.

I don't know much about the subject so I didn't give many details, please ask if you need more info. Thanks!

Just out of curiousity I have to ask this.

How are you removing your SD card when you are through using it?

I just pop it out. Its spring loaded. When you push it in it pops out. Is that what you're asking?

Yes.

That is what the problem is.

Every single time  you remove a card and a usb memory stick you must Safely Remove the device or what is happening to you will happen.

Removing the SD card by just popping out is corrupting the boot sector of the card.

It becomes unrecognized and must be reformatted to become useable again. Does that sound familiar to you?

In your taskbar lower right hand side there will be an icon that you must click on to safely remove your SD card or USB thumbdrive or USB hard disk.

safely remove your SD card or USB thumbdrive or USB hard disk.

That is just the way it has been and wil be until Microsoft or some bright entrepreneurial soul manages to fix that old issue.
