Probook 4530s w/dvd RW Multi DLlightscribe - Burn dvds ??

HI:

I have the Probook 4530s with DVD RW SuperMulti DL LightScribe Drive. can I burn dvd's with the lightscribe. If not, can I use a free dvd burning software. Please suggest one compatibale with win7 64-bit home prrem .

Install the Lightscribe system software which you can download from the support page for your laptop here. You will need a lightscribe enabled DVD burning program like Nero or Roxio or Sonic

I've installed Nero, Sonic and Roxio and neither one allows me to burn a DVD. I'm starting to think this probook 4530 Xuo15UT does not have a dvd burner installed. It only has a dvd drive. Not happy with this product. I'm just going to return it.

There has not been a laptop sold with just a DVD drive for many years so something else is going on. Is this a new laptop?

I meant to say cd drive. I'm really frustrated with this laptop:: I bought this laptop two weeks ago and setting it up to work they way I need it too is horrible. the Hp tech support told me I need to copy the movie to my hard drive first in order to copy the files to a DVD-r. However he never tld me what software to use to burn it to the disk.. I'm done

And the total media software is a joke.. There are no instructions in the software that shows how to copy files from my hard drive to a DVD-r.

No Lightscribe only burns an etched label for your disc, you also have to have disc that are lightscribe. You will need a burning software for DVD's. I recommend Nero however it is not free. But ImgBurn is. follow the link below.  http://download.cnet.com/ImgBurn/3000-2646_4-10847481.html If disc is copy protected you will not be able to burn it to your hard drive. Let me know if that is the case, I have a workaround.

Darney53.... What is your work around for DVD's that are copyright protected? Please share as I have not found a good software to eliminate this.

Hey can you look at your specs. and tell me the parts number for your Probook 4530s w/dvd RW Multi DLlightscribe. I have a Probook 4530s, but my optical drive is not lightscribe enabled. I would like to replace my drive with one that has lightscribe capibilities. Can you please supply as much info as you can about your optical drive?
