Quickdock 1 w/ dv5

I have a dv5-1004nr and was wondering if it was compatable with the first quickdock, as found here, model number ES631AA#ABA. Specifically, I would like to know if the composite video plug on the quickdock would work correctly. Thanks!

Re: Quickdock 1 w/ dv5

I'd like an answer to this question also, and if I could further expand on the question, I am wondering about the power differences of the docking station and the laptop.  the dv5 uses a different plug and is rated at 19 volts, whereas the docking station is rated at 18.5.  Will that create a problem?  The model laptop I have is the dv5z.  Thanks in advance...

Re: Quickdock 1 w/ dv5

well, I decided to plug in an ac power adaptor that I had and set it to 18.5 volts, and kept the laptop power adaptor plugged in and it worked great!  I still need to hook up my addtional monitor, but this is a great start.  Just thought I'd post my result...

Re: Quickdock 1 w/ dv5

No answers here? Anything new on the component question? Would someone from HP like to contribute before I make a support call or potentially blowout my pc with improper power.

About component video: I purchased the quickdock to connect the composite video to my old (no hdmi) HD TV.  I have the pavilion DV4-1225dx and neither the s-video or component video on the quick dock are detected by the laptop. I'm looking for answers now.

About power: I found this quickdock listed on the HP site as compatible with my laptop, so whatever power supply is connected to the quickdock should work for the attached laptop. If this is not the case, HP should have stated so.
