Re-installing network adapter

I had to replace my hard drive for my netbook mini 210-1050nr.

1) the f12 key does not squtch on the wireless

2) I keep on getting a message that I am missing a network adapter

Indeed, the realtek folder which is supposed to contain the adapter appears to be empty when i looked via device manager.

Any ideas? Im abroad and i need it for work so I really could do with some help!

Thanks in advance

Re: Re-installing network adapter

Hi, Philip:

What operating system?

Go to the device manager and see if there are devices needing drivers.

If you are missing wireless drivers you will see a device labeled network controller.

Clcik on that and then click on the details tab. If you are running XP, post the top string of characters you see.

If you are running windows 7, in the Properties drop down list, select the second item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters you see.

If you are saying that in the device manager you cannot find your wireless network controller, then see if installing the Wireless Assistant makes it show up again.

You'll need to launch the wireless assistant and click enabled to enable the adater so the driver can be installed and get it to work.

[ Edited ]

Hi:

The device details you posted reveal it is a Broadcom WLAN card.

Here is the latest W7 driver:
