Removed hard drive from HP Dv9408nr

Hi I'm trying to copy my files from my HP Dv9408nr laptop hard drive, it's the 2nd HP laptop that has completely died in a year! Same issue with both, starts to power up but then dies and just keeps rebooting. I'm trying to transfer my files from the hard drive. But my question is my hard drive a Sata or IDE, I tried calling HP tech support but they wanted me to pay for the answer as it is out of warranty! Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Most of the time, you can't beat NewEgg for PC stuff.

And I selected that one because it had such great reviews.

They had the same brand in a less expensive flavor, that only had "4 eggs."

Ya i saw the cheaper ones after I ordered, but one was I think $7.99,that sounds a little to cheap, glad I got the one you suggested.
