SS USB ports don't work on HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition (Window 7 Ultimate)

Bought the  HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition product # A1U55AV. Running Windows 7 Ultimate.  Both SS USB ports on left side do not work.  Both standard USB ports on right side work fine.  Help desk wants me to do a system restore.  I really don't want to do that.  It's already taken me months to get everything transferred and programs installed the way I want them.  Any suggestions?

Hi Skiler81, We're you able to have this issue fixed? I have the exact same problem. And I wish I didn't have to restore froma previous installation

No solution yet.  Hoping someone from HP will see this and now could be class issue!  I'm waiting a few days to see if anyone  can provide solution without having to start all over.
