Simple games, that run on other much older systems, will not install.

Hi,

I own a presario C700 laptop and have for the past twelve months. When installing certain games on my computer, such as the first edition Sims and the sequel to Baulders Gate, my computer willl allow me to install but then only let me run them once. After that, I am told I need to insert the disc. This has got even more frustrating as now, I can barely run the program, (for the first time), for about five minutes before it crahes. I find this especially strange as these games run easily on a MUCH older system, (READ: a computer running windows98, and in which the screen has turned an unpleasent yellow colour). Any help would be much appreciated, and if any more information is needed, please let me know.

A question, which operating system do you have?

is this game compatible with the system?, remember that vista is very unstable with a lot of applications that runs with XP o less.

do you have this problem with all your games or only with these?

Verify the specs of the games too.

This problem is not a hardware issue buddy.

Thanks for the quick reply. The laptop runs Vista, if that answers your question? I'm not that pro with computers. And yes, the computer has all the requirements needed, I've already checked. It's only with those two games.
