I would like to know how to change the touchpad settings on my Touchsmart tx2. The on/off button above the touchpad is convenient for some occasions, but I am really interested in changing the sensitivity or turning off the "tap for click" function. In other words, I would like to be able to use the touchpad and its right and left buttons without worrying about it doing anything when I tap it.
Device/Mouse settings does not have a tab for the touchpad like I've seen on other laptop computers.
Thanks in advance, I really appreciate the time you take to read this plea.

Hi,
Can you post back with the following.
1. The full Model No. and Product No. of your tx2 series notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.
2. The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit ).

DP-K

Hi,
First, download the latest Synaptics driver installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp4533
Next, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver' and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has fully reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click the Synaptics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again.
Hopefully, if you open windows Control Panel and open Mouse, you will now see a 'Device Settings' tab on the right - if this is the case, see the document on the link below regarding the configuration options.
Regards,
DP-K
