Hi! Cause i really love my notebook and really couldn't find anything else design - wise , i really wish to stick up with my 3 y.o. pavilion dv5295ea but i'm wondering if i'm going to be able to perform some hardware upgrades on my laptop. What i want to do is to change the RAM and the CPU, so here follows my questions.
- I want to upgrade my ram up to 4GB , but on the manual it says that this notebook supports up to 2GB of RAM. Is this really true?
- I also need to upgrade my CPU from a 2.0Ghz the intel duo t2500 to the 2.33Ghz intel duo t2700. There is no where mentioned what speeds the motheroard, or bios support. Will the new CPU work?
Thanks

I am also interested in what cpu's the dv5000t can support, I have a T2500 core duo and wanted to upgrade to the highest core 2 duo this notebook can support, and a supplementary question to this: Does the latest bios revision from 2007 (F.24) allows support for core2duo processors?
I know the RAM will be limited to below 4gb so I was wondering if swapping out one of the 1gb modules to a 2gb will be supported for a total of 3 gb? Would getting 2 x 2gb sticks in dual channel be any better/supported?

Melodos, yes, your laptop can use 2GB of memory. Here is a link to "Crucial's" website:

Crucial's memory is guaranteed to work if you use their recommendations. Their memory is very high quality.
As for the CPU, the upgrade that you mention would hardly give you any performance boost. The difference is 300MHz. I never consider upgrading the CPU until the speed is doubled or close to it. Then, you can definitely tell the difference. With that said, I can't find any data on the upgrade, either.

Nikkool, for your information, it would be better if you would start your own thread in the future. You would possibly get more help.
Your laptop is limited to 2GB of memory, also. Here is a link to "Crucial's" website showing your memory:

I doubt that HP will provide a BIOS that will allow you to upgrade to a dual-core processor. They want to sell more computers, which only makes sense. A motherboard manufacturer looks at upgrades much differently.
