Upgrading motherboard in dv9341eu

Hello All,

Is it practical to put a higher spec motherboard in my dv9341eu? I mean from a system operating point of view. I would like to find a used board with the ability to use a bigger cpu, more memory, and a better video chip.

Would there be big problems getting the pripherals to work?

Laptop motherboards are just part of the laptop. There are no optional upgrades available. Even a motherboard from the next higher series, the dv9500 or dv9700, will not fit or work. You can upgrade the processor to a faster Turion x2 with the same socket, you can go to 4 gigs on the RAM and SATA hard drives don't have a BIOS limit so you should be able to use a pair of 500 gig hard drives. You will need a second caddy for a second drive. The real problem is the video chip and you are stuck there I am afraid.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm surprised that a motherboard from a higher spec 9000 series won't fit in and work. If you're certain then I'm screwed.
