Which is the most trustworthy program to monitor CPU heat?

[ Edited ]

Hi,

Two months ago I got a new HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition custom laptop (product number A1L97AV). I love almost everything about it except one troublesome thing: it's heating up too much when I'm gaming. Playing my games is the main reason i got this new laptop. I run almost exclusively Call of Duty World at War, which is not a new game and therefore the hardware requirements are not as high.

I usually run a Firefox 10 window with about 4/5 tabs open, one download manager, teamspeak and my Call of Duty game simultaneously. I've been using Speccy v1.16 to track the CPU temperature because after about 5 minutes, the left side of the laptop gets really hot. According to this Speccy app, temp reaches about 70 degrees Celsius, which feels really hot on my hand.

I've set HP Coolsense to always on and the fan in the BIOS is set to running continuously. I am also using a CoolerMaster NotePal X2 notebook cooler at maximum. Still the heat problem persists.

I would like to know which is the most trustworthy program to monitor CPU heat? I also would like to know what else can i do the lower the temperature while i game so i can use my laptop more comfortably, instead of having to keep my left hand in the air and hardly touching the laptop at all?
