Re: blue screen appears after sudden shut down

I suggest powering up the notebook and entering the BIOS to access the diagnostic programs available there. Test your hard disk and memory.

Please identify your notebook with the entire p/n. You can find that by removing the battery and looking at the labeling in the compartment where the battery was.

Bootable device refers to the BIOS finding no device with a bootable operating system available.

You have a pretty recent notebook.

Try pressing the power button and then tapping the Esc key. That should get you into the Start menu. There should be an option to access BIOS or Diagnostics or the Recovery Manager.

F10 will invoke the BIOS and F2 should invoke the UEFI system diagnostic unless the hard disk has failed. The better choice would be F2.  UEFI diagnostics are quite helpful in determining whay a notebook won't start up and boot into the operating system.  There are also diagnostics available in the BIOS.

Did this happen when the notebook was in a low battery power state or when it was going into hibernation?

Have you ever updated the BIOS or run the HP system tuneup from within the Hp Support Assistant?

Re: blue screen appears after sudden shut down

That would mean there was probably some corruption of the file system.  The notebook doing it on its own is a good thing.

I suggest that you run a Tuneup as I described in my last post. A defragmentation is part of the Tuneup.

Re: blue screen appears after sudden shut down

Press the power button and then tap the Esc (is usually in the upper left hand corner of the keyboard)

The BIOS UEFI Start menu appears.

F1 System information (self titled and explanatory)

F2 System Diagnostics (Invokes HP Advanced System Diagnostics)

F9 Boot Device Options (enables you to select which device is the first boot device seen by the BIOS)

F10 BIOS Setup (not need now unless F2 does not work)

F11 System Recovery (invokes the Recovery Manager)

Select F2 -  Select Start-Up test. The test will test the memory modules, The Hard drive SMART attributes, a portion of the hard disk surface test and the battery test

Please post the results of the Test here.

The objective is to see what could be causing your notebook's OS to bluescreen.

Re: blue screen appears after sudden shut down

i did that and these are the results:

100% of the system memory test ok

4, 155, 469, 824 bytes of system memory tested ok

Memory test pass

Primary Hard Drive Self Test

Quick Test 00% complete

but then a "Startup Repair" thing came and it sed it would scan and repair any problems automatically and then at the end it sed that windows CANNOT repair the problem.

What should i do?

Re: blue screen appears after sudden shut down

I would consider trying to save any important data, photos and documents to an external location.

You can do that by removing the hard disk and installing it in an appropriate hard disk external enclosure. Once that is done you can connect it as a slave drive via USB to another PC in your household and then access the drive and save the data.

Once you have saved your data it would be time to reinstall the hard disk and boot into the UEFI menu and perform a factory image recovery to return your notebook to a useful state. A recovery is a data destructive event. All of the data in the partitions will be deleted as part of the recovery process.

The alternative, if you do not have anything important saved in the notebook, is to just go ahead do a factory image recovery.
