so by doing this will this hard drive problem be solved? 

how do i get it to a factory image recovery?

this hard drive promblem happened once before on this same notebook and i tried rebooting it but the problem didnt really get solved so i had to send it to the hp technician ppl but the warranty is out of date now so hopefully do u think this factory image recovery will work?

also just something else....ive got these random "Thumbs.db" icons in almost all my files .. do u know wat they r and could they have anything to do wiv this hard drive problem?

Yes, it should resolve the issue. The thumbs.db caching problem should be a moot point  after you perform the recovery.

 

You haven't stated which method you plan on using. 

 

Here is a web document which also has a video on how to use Recovery manager in a couple of scenarios. You already know how to access it on powering up via the UEFI menu so use that. The video is about desktop recovery, but there are few, if any differences besides how to acces the Recovery manager.

i think i may do it from windows menu .... but wat about microsoft/? yes it will be wiped off but will i be able to put it back (microsoft students pack)

Do you mean Microsoft Office Home & Student version? Please be a bit more specific. You will need to find the product key to reinstall it.

No. it will work again. It just cannot be installed on multiple PCs unless it is a multi-PC license. I am accumstomed to seeing the three PC version.

You will have to make the choice as to which to use. If you are ready to reset your notebook to its delivered state and are aware that the only software on it will be the OS, then my answer is yes. That is the simplest way to access the recovery manager.

Hi, I did the system recovery and took it back to its factory image settings but just now the notebook just frooze and the blue screen appeared again. Why did it do that? What should i do now???
